The Sri Lankan Society at
UIUC organized the musical show "Shravana Aradhana" in July 2005 featuring Nanda
Malini, one of the most talented and famous female vocalists of Sri Lanka, in
aid of raising funds for tsunami victims. As many people gathered at this event,
it gave the committee a valuable opportunity to introduce the scholarship
project. Dr. Nirmala Gunapala gave a Pahansila presentation at this event
explaining how the project is conducted, goals of this scholarship, and how
anyone can join in helping this noble deed.
