Mr. Kelley Davis and Mr. Kyle Davis, benefactors of Pahansila-Davis Educational Project visited Kandy (Sri Lanka) in January 2009 to see the progress of the several new ventures started under this scheme. Although Mr. Kelley davis has visited the project several times, this is Mr. Kyle Davis' first visit. On the first day, the donors met the Pahansila volunteers who are coordinating the project. They were updated on the current progress and discussions were held on future plans and developments. The second day the donors visited Polgollawatte School. They met with the Principal of the school, teachers, and students and inspected the newly donated library. The possibility of starting computer classes for the students was one of the main items discussed. The next stop was at National Youth Council Vocational Training center at Polgolla. Here the visitors met with some of the instructors of the students who followed vocational and technical training under Pahansila-Davis Educational Project. Later in the evening, they visited Sarana Sevana children's home and met students, teachers, and the representatives of the Board of Management of the orphanage. This was the first time our donors visited the orphanage after Pahansila started conducting free music and dancing (traditional) classes at this facility. The children unveiled their musical and dancing talents in front of the delegation and this followed by a tea party. On the third day of their visit, Kelley and Kyle visited Weerodara School, Watapuluwa (Kandy) to look into the possibilities of starting a new project. The Principal of the school and teachers greeted the guests warmly and took them on a tour on the school compound. The site visit was concluded with a meeting of the students who attened free English and Math classes that we conduct for the benefit of students who sit for G.C.E. (OL) examination. We are thankful to Messes. Kelley and Kyle Davis for taking the effort to visit the projects and for their valuable input. Our thanks also go out to all our Kandy volunteers and the heads of the institutions visited by the guests for all the support and arrangements.
