Sarana Sevana children's home won the second best horticulture garden in Kandy district.  This is a competition held in the Kandy district among government and  private small scale institutes. Sarana Sevana also sent an application to join the competition. It was organized by the Central Province Agriculture Department. The award was presented to the matron by the Central Province Governor at a small ceremony.

Pahansila started a program in 2010 to grow flowers and vegetables in the premises of Sarana Sevana to inculcate the habit of gardening among children and to give a new look to the home. We spent over Rs.10,000 to buy gardening tools.
